boho window

I dyed thin muslin with Rit dye. Yeah, I'm on the cheap here! :) I wanted a quick inexpensive update to my super drab window treatments.

I'm not going to sew the panels into one curtain. I like that I can have them spread out to let light in or bunch them together.

(photo is so grainy, but it suits in a way)

polar bear with bright pink cowl :)

polar bear with bright pink cowl :)

crochet bear, knitted cowl, bought pattern, The pattern was great, but this was difficult for me. It's my first crochet animal and probably my last. I just wanted a polar bear. I didn't give him facial features. I like him better like this. He's pretty big, too, about 20" long give or take

neon! garter stitch squares afghan

Neon! My crochet is awful. I just learned this year and it's slow going. My knitting has improved quite a bit. But I'm having fun with those bright colors.

from Studio MME
I did bad work on the crown. I need to take those stitches out and correct it. But I wanted this to be finished in May.

woven scarf

This scarf is 80" long and about 12" wide.

It's amazing how much less yarn that weaving uses compared to knitting or crocheting.

The warp is Deborah Norville Serenity Garden Yarn in Hibiscus and the weft yarn is Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable Yarn in Sunrise.

Ultimately, I want to weave with Noro Kureyon.

Here is a great "bless this house" cross stitch pattern from hardcorestitchcorps - mistakes to be fixed later.
Check out her patterns, they are my favorites.

weaving

warping the loom
I've had this loom for almost a lifetime and have never finished anything with it. I also didn't have the instructions so warping was tricky. I warped this with Aunt Lydia's Crochet Cotton Classic Value Size 3, Natural. This thread is smooth and a little 'slippy'. I used it because I wanted a little finer of a weave. The weft is Lily Sugar and Cream cotton yarn in Butter Cream.

This part is fun, easy and fast. There are patterns and such, but as you can see, I'm a complete beginner. :)

finished
It's too short to use as a scarf. We didn't make the warp long enough, I guess. But it will make a nice scarf for a dresser or table.
the finished product

I used an Ashford loom video on youtube to help figure it out and my husband was a great help.

giant pillow

I used a vintage crochet potholder pattern for this. I wanted to use up the leftover yarn from my flower afghan / throw. It’s a huge 36 inches in diameter. I didn't have a pattern for the pillow, I just made it about the same size as the flower.

things

I love tiny things, here are some teensy dodos

I forgot about this cowl I made. I wish I would have made the smaller one, though. I do love the yarn, Lion Brand Thick & Quick Metallics in Galaxy.

I finished this filet stitch fun flower throw. It's my first throw, one of my first crochet projects
and it shows!

I had a birthday and used it as an excuse to bake a fun, huge cake with my niece.

thick blanket with neon yellow border

I finished my thick (three strands of yarn) blanket. It’s done in garter stitch with neon yellow single crochet border. I think I should have used larger needles. I used size 17. But I do like it. It’s very squishy.
Even though I did the a swatch, it still turned out too wide. I need to work on my tension, I guess. :)

The heather yarn is lion brand wool-ease and the neon yellow is deborah norville worsted.
